So I found a used 180 gallon acrylic tank for a very good deal. What do you guys think about this tanks seam. Does it look good to you guys or should I avoid it! I'm planning to go check it out in person within a few hours and POSSIBLY get it. Any feedback is appreciated

F Fishyboi4 How much? Seams look a bit old but still good. I wouldn’t pay too much for it with seams like that. You want to avoid big bubbles in the seams especially toward the bottom of the tank bcuz that’s where most of the water pressure is.

ell I ended up buying it already. I was able to get it for 475 for the tank, stand, lights, heaters, 2 fx5 canister. In person it didn't look too bad. There wasnt any bubble on the seams. I know every tank varies and but how much time do you think the tank may have yet? From your estimate

F Fishyboi4 acrylic tanks can last 30+ yrs if it was well cared for. That meant tank should be store indoor away from the sun or extreme cold. Tank should sit flat on well support stand with plywood top. This assuming the tank was build correctly at the manufacturers. I have some old acrylic tanks that are 20+ yrs old and the seams still looks solid.

That’s not a bad price you paid with all the accessories. From your pictures I would say that 180g is about 8-12 yrs old.

Yes the price wasn't bad at all so I just decided to buy it. Heres some pictures. The last one is me starting to buff it out. I guess I will find out how it holds water in a few days when I begin to fill if up.

F Fishyboi4 Tank looks good bro. It will hold water fine. That looks like a mass production fish store type stand. Is it properly build with 2x4 cross beams under the top plywood? Acrylic tank need a fully supported top plywood.

No there is no 2x4 across the plywood. Its just the plywood. Should I reinforce it by adding 2x4 across the plywood and down horizontally for extra support? I just took some pictures. Let me know what you guys think?
