Well, I wish I didnt have to update this further, but its not all bad... Pedro has been very involved in getting the fish to me, However... Fedex totally messed up. They were sent Tues Night, left newark NJ by 620 AM and were in Memphis by 830AM wednesday, I live in basically in a straight line west of Memphis 4 hours. So I took off Wednesday to be there to sign for them thinking 10 am to noon I would have them, no such luck, Pedro had contacted me by 10 to see if they had arrived.
So we see that they have until 430, he contacts them, I contact them, 430PM not a problem according to FEDEX, then at 230PM they Leave Memphis... so wait, Im 4 hrs away... 630PM maybe... more calls are made. Should Arrive by 7PM, more calls from both of us.... Should arrive Today, up until 830PM, then they will be there by 9PM... Then nothing, More calls from both of us... Ooops we Mis Sorted them.
Wow, they Went 4 hours Past me over to Oklahoma, so then they would have to send them Back to the Local center 45 mins from me. But they would not until the Morning. My fedex track shows they arrived in Tulsa at 11:28 PM...
So I had to travel for work the next day so I asked the Fedex people can they have them there by 630 to 7AM. They would make that request.
Nope Didnt arrive, not by 7... I had to travel to a regional hospital so I had my parents come wait for the package... 8...No 9...No...10 No...11..No finally on my way back from regional meeting( they fired my boss, ding dong the witch is dead, nevermind its a good thing) So I call fedex They were put on a truck in 45 mins away to be delivered... at 8AM... uh where are they... So I call , Pedro has been calling etc. By 1200 noon Im back home and FEDEX says they will be there within the Hour... Yeah ok... 1215 , 1230, 1245, 1255 he rolls up in the Express van, I think they had warned him he was already apologizing as he was walking up... I signed for it as damaged .
To my surprise, all were alive 43 hrs since they were bagged and shipped. I floated them and dripped them pretty quickly and got them in a tank. They were well packaged / insulated and still at a decent cool temp despite high temps in the area. All acclimated well, except maybe one Peacock Bass, which seemed to be the exception he went to hide under a rock pile after release and the rest went and schooled up near the surface. I did not see him this morning, but he may still be hiding, or he may have wedged under something and died, I may move some things later today to see if i can find him. The RTC was moving and exploring, The TSN was somewhat sedentary i see him lying along the bottom, but now that i think about it he has been in several different areas, and i think that might just be a characteristic of TSN, Im just used to my LSN who is a low to mid tank swimmer.
Pedro was on the phone with me as needed several times thru out this issue and was making sure the status of the fish as I unpacked them , He is 100% involved with any problems I had.
