Have you looked at wetspot? Their shipping is great.

For shellies I prefer a more fine sand. Sure carribsea is a lot more expensive than PFS, but it's only for a 20 gallon, so it's not too bad price wise.

I use a sponge filter. If you do a HOB, to recommend a prefilter, but they don't kick up much sand, so might not be necessary.

Multi's aren't super easy to find, and they aren't too cheap either. I got some about a month ago from Geiler Aquatics. They have a website that you can contact them directly and get a quote. I believe they charge $9/per fish + shipping. I ordered 7 fish and they sent 10. All arrived alive and well. I've got them in a 20 gallon long, with pool filter sand and about 20 escargot shells and running a sponge filter. I highly recommend Geiler Aquatics if ordering online.

Just ask for pool filter sand. From what I have seen, it is almost identical regardless of brand.

This is wrong.

There is most definitely a difference. Do not buy it without looking at it. Some sand is smooth and rounded and that is great. Manufactured pool filter sand is sharp and jagged and will tear up sand sifters and grind down barbels on cats like cories.
Take a strong magnifier with you when you do your shopping.
