I believe it was the new environment. There were no tank mates aside from some plants, and water parameters were 0/0/5 with 7.4 ph.
I have since put him back into the main tank, and he's eating again.

It might be interesting and potentially beneficial and informational to understand why such difference in the environment in the two tanks, what exactly is so deadly or sickeningly different.

The two tanks have generally the same parameters, plants, and substrate.
My guess is he probably missed the company of tank mates. I noticed he's always accompanying my long fin Senegal around the tank.
