Are you going with "starfire" that low iron very clear glass? At 1.5 thickness you’re going to see a lot of green on regular glass.

Seriously 2.5" acrylic? Are you sure? Might want to revisit the math. Especially after you price out the starfire glass. Acrylic is the way to go for large tanks IMO. Maybe 2" thickness, but again, this wont be in my house and I understand about a "safe factor".

Im pricing low iron and such. i have months till i have the cash for the glass/acrylic

im just going off SD acrylic calculator.
 
I can give you their address as for buying anything from them I have never bought any sheets plastic sheets before for any fish tank project before but I have looked around and asked them about prices on clear sheets of aylic

Also Hopefully ill have the 3d modeling of my over head filter done. Right now im thinking 8 by 2 by 1. part of it (4 by 1) will be separted to hold convicts.

im sorry to admit but if i get a monster fish ill eventually want to see a live feeding. this way i have to places for convicts. a breeding pair or 2 in my 55 and the large enough not to be eaten by other convicts in the over head filter.
