Net Fishing in CA

but is a umbrella net considered a throw net?
what exactly is a throw and gill net?

i'll keep the net..i can probably use it on our private lake..or in Japan
 
i have a cast net and an umbrella net.

have used both. lol. but nothing beats a heavy duty pond net and netting in and around any aquatic vegitation.

Since you mentioned the umbrella net in your email. I would assume no.
 
ok ewurm, you saying it's safe right? since they would of said "umbrella nets are not allowed"

well i looked up google images for a throw net and only casting nets came out. i still have no clue what a gill net is though.
 
Gill nets and Seine nets work differently. Seine nets works by coralling fish. Gill nets on the other hands work by ensnaring/trapping fish by the gills when they try to go through the net, thus the term gill nets.

No, I don't think you can use any net to take gamefish.
