I'm apologizing because i had been misinformed by some guy at the FWC. i know ignorance of the law is not an excuse but its not that hard to kill the fish. and thats what ill do if i am breaking the law. Ill do what Oddball says about them
 
Actually, Florida has an addendum to the federal SH ban. In FL, all newly caught snakeheads must be killed by removing their heads. They cannot be released alive once caught for any reason.
Yes, it is legal to take SHs for personal consumption. However, they cannot be transported alive. They must be beheaded at the time they're caught.

well I knew you could keep them for consumption but they had to be killed first, no exceptions. thank you for clarifying, I wanted to make sure I wasn't watch-dogging the OP for no reason if the laws were now different.
 
The snakeheads make great bait for trolling when filleted right.
