Nothing works better than elephant tranquilizers

I prefer the method of taking a large plastic bag or even a garbage bag but clear is better. Dipping it into the aquarium and filling it fully with water. This way you can get it float near the surface, try and open the front as fully as possible, get your fish to use your hand to herd the fish to the edges of the aquarium until you get it to go in to the bag. be ready to immediately close down the front of the bag. The you can squeeze out the excess water so you can lift it out the aquarium. Be careful to not leave a big enough gap while squeezing out for fish to jump. This is best done before you do anything to disturb the aquarium sothe fish are not agitated. This method may take some practice but avoids fish thrashing themselves in the net.

Try that method with fish with big teeth like wolf fish, payara, or African tiger fish, and it will be fun! :grinno:

I just moved 19 fish yesterday to a holding tank. I forget what a chore it is to move them. I hate stressing them out, but even after moving rock and driftwood, im still too slow.

The largest fish I have is a veija - 7 inch by 5 inch. I make my boyfriend handle him by hand. The movement of them freaks me out!

Take a large pond net and replace the netting with a bag than twist it closed so that the fish doesnt jump!
