There are definetly people out there that dislike them with a passion. My pacu is my favorite fish. I true giant with personality to match. I really feel that those who dislike them so much have either never kept them or have tried to keep them under improper conditions.

My Pacu got beat up by my Parrot and Flowerhorn fish all the time even he's the biggest in the tank. He got beat up everyday and he bump his mouth to the glass all the time. Now I can even see his teeth without opening his mouth :D :D

He was aggressive since the first day I bought him. But now he's the victim. That's why I have to leave him by himself in a 55 gals tank for now, but he doesn't even bother those guppies in there. ---> Good boy. :naughty:

same reason we got rid of our pacu. they got too big and ate everything. i was thinking about cooking it since it looked sooo fatt

If you eat home aquarium fish, you may get CANCER. Because everytime you change water or treat fish diseases you would have to use chemical and medication and of course your fish will have to absorb all those things. Ex: some types of meta green which use to treat ick can cause cancer easily.

The best advice is just to dump your fish and not to eat them.

Just a suggestion

well, if you go fish out in a river, some fertilizer gets in there from a local farm when it rains. same thing :headbang2 . Although, i was just kidding about eating my pet. i cannot ever eat my pet, i dont have the guts.

my channel cat hates my pacu.for a while everything picked on the pacu but everything eventually calmed down, i love my pacu hes pushin 25" and has a girlfrind at about 15". eventually i want to build a 500+gallon tank for these fellas but till then theyre what keep my 210 occupied with a channel and red devil

Never by Pacu...period. There are too many being dumped outside or forced onto aquariums. If you have a 2000 gallon or larger tank, you MIGHT be able to house an adult. They are schooling fish though, so think twice that size as far as tanks go.
