Never knew angel fish grew humps

Saw some at the Georgia aquarium it’s really shocked me... when I get home in few days I will upload from my Nikon View attachment 1448283
I look forward to seeing your pictures. I imagine they will be spectacular adult specimens.
Both Pterophyllum scalare and P. altum, have a pronounced 'forehead depression', icthyologically referred to as the Predorsal notch. Wild specimens from some localities have it more pronounced than others. In contrast, P. dumerilli (the long nose angelfish) does not have a predorsal notch. Little flesh (and mostly skeletal shape) is involved in forming the predorsal notch in angelfish.
Large adults of scalare and altum can have such marked predorsal notches that a 'hump' can be seen in the forehead. But this is different thatnthe nuchal hump in many cichlids, which is mainly made of soft tissue.
