Arrgghh....just moved my 125 tank and stand ...what a pain in the arse. Had to take out the inhabitants. 5 jars, 1 silver...3 dats..3 clown loaches and beautiful mono pbass.

Everything was going okay...until the silver decides to do a triple axel..silly silver..he's okay ...nothing more upsetting than seeing a 14" silver flopping on the floor and collecting dirt. :irked: Geez...I forgot how heavy that tank and stand combo is...sux doing it myself.

Being in a rush to get it done...what did I forget to do? Level out the tank again. Now its full and off by 1/4" on the left side. :irked: :irked:

I figured I'd better move the tank while I'm doing my scheduled w/c...this way I only had to keep half the tank water...fill up a few sterilites and put the fishes in them.

The reason for moving the 125 is Tenecor emailed me and said my 240g Long is on the way. :headbang2 So with the 125 out of the way, I'm going to build a false wall to house the new 240L, convert my 55g into a w/d to filter both tanks, along with my Ocean Clear canister. Pretty much got everything I need for the new tank /filter system. Picked up 30 pieces of 2x4's.:naughty:

I was going to start the framing out today (FRIDAY) but now I need to re-level the 125...so that means taking the fishes out again and emptying the tank or at least 1/4 full and then do my leveling.

Mine went a lot smoother, but my 12'' silver jumped twice before I was done. No injuries at all to the aro, but it wouldnt eat out of my hand after that.

Is a 1/4" that big of a deal?

Hope everything goes well with the leveling. Can't wait to see pix of the 240.

Sure it is. I have the AGA 125 with dual Megaflows...so the right one is getting very little intake as opposed to the left. So, instead of getting the rated flow for each overflow...I'm getting 70% as opposed to a full 100% of flow.

Besides...it bugs the crap out of me knowing its not level. :grinno:

I hear you on that one man. When my tank was not level I was worry as heII. My was off probably 1/8 so it's not bad at all. But it bug the hell out of me that there is a possibility the tank would bust loose. The more I research and read about leveling a tank, the more paranoid I got. I decided one weekend that I would do it right and level it out so I would have to worry about it in the future. I went to home depot to get steel plates 1/8 steel plates for 35 cents each. These are normally found in the concrete or wood area. Then I drained out 110 gallons of water to the lawn. My friend and I spent 3 hours leveling it out. Now the tanks looks beautiful and I do not have to be paranoid about it blowing anymore.:headbang2 BTW, please show some pics when you get that big boy setup.

Why don't you just slide in some shims under the lower side.
Because I found out the freaking front floor was unlevel 5 ft across. Plus I have one of those eight legs aquarium stand. I would've done it a easier way if I could. Trust me, it was a pain in the ***!:swear: What a pain to shim. I used these tie plates to shim. Does the trick and come in 1/8 thickness.
