never teach your fish to jump for food

My 4 inch oscar jumps twice his body length out of the water to get his pellets, he will look and examen wether or not i have food before he will jump.:)

o damn i just bought 2 golden red tail cats if my oscar teachs them to jump i'm grounding him for life :D

yeah, me too :D My male trimac used to hit the surface really hard for food until the day I raised the lid and no sooner than I could grab the food container he had jumped out and landed on the floor. I think he learned his lesson because he doesn't hit the surface nearly as hard for food anymore.

i absolutly CANNOT hold the bag of pellets over the water or one of my o's WILL jump up and grab it, once he landed on the enge and i had to nudge him back into the water. silly fishies :)
 
I'm teaching my bass to jump for food right now. My younger brother was holding a frog about 3 inches from the water not even paying attention and BAM. the bass nabbed it.

It was cool.

I don't plan on stopping the jumping lessons but I will take procautions now.
