So about an hour ago I had an idea to put my betta in my 10 gallon, I thought my betta would be okay with my neons and guppys.I moved him from his 1 gallon to the guppy/neon tank and watch him enjoy his new tank happily. So I came on MFK for a while and went back to check on him and I see him with a neon hanging from his mouth by his tail:irked:. I grabbed my net and got my betta to let go and put him in a small tuppaware for the time being. I thought the neon was dead but I was surprised to see him wiggiling around slowly with half a tail and 1 fin:cry: I felt I had to put him out of his pain. :( aghghghghghg! But anyway do you have any storys about fish you trusted and ended up doing something bad?

Three words

FISH EAT FISH

and besides

you might hate me but betta's are what I feed to things

I used to have a Betta with Cardinal Tetras and Rummynose in a 40g planted tank. That fish was pure evil :FIREdevil and my wife would put him in jail  (a 1 gallon bowl by himself) to learn a lesson only to parole him :screwy:after a month or so and find him up to the same "evil" Cardinal munching thing! :D

I put my betta in my 20long grow-out/ swordtail tank that has one of my EBJDs in it. The betta tried to fight him but ended up with shredded fins... I had to take him out before he got killed... It is hard to put bettas in with any other fish that he will try to fight for territory, or try to eat. lol.

Bettas are predatory and territorial.Thats about what I would have expected to happen.
