I guess I won't be meeting you in Columbia to get a couple nice loaches?

I'm really having a bad day.

I was coming out of the house and heading toward my truck so I could go run some errands. As I stepped through the door on the porch, a gigantic hornet, who was looking and sounding reasonably like a Chinook helicopter came in for a hot landing on my leg. Seeing a three inch wasp land on my thigh, I took the completely reasonable action of screaming like a little ***** and swatting it with my cap.

Unfortunately for me, I forgot that I had my Oakleys on my hat. As I was swatting the dual rotor waspicopter off of my leg, I found that my Oakleys underwent a centripetal parabolic acceleration in order to achieve terminal velocity before transferring their accumulated energy into the concrete of my porch.

In other words, I now have Broakleys.

However, I went up to the farm store and got some crazy glue to glue them back together so that I can have some Ghettoakleys.

That is after all better than Noakleys. ESPECIALLY since I know the house commander won't let me buy another pair right now.
 LOL!!!! Oh plz, say no more!! I 'bout died laughing. the glue- is something "I" would do- and for same reason.

Dude, give me some money for gas and I'll let you HAVE the one that's left. I just don't want it getting eaten. I'm gonna transfer it into the growout tank with the little tiger fish.

Sorry to hear. Have seen this too many times with my fish.

What's an imperial loach? Does it not have the formidable spines under its eyes?

Is that your beloved Ginger's doing?

It was Ginger. She's a butt and is on my craplist for now lol.

Imperial loaches are incredibly rare. They're known to science as Leptobotia elongata. The spines are practically vestigial. With the rarity of this fish I legitimately feel bad that it got eaten because its a specimen that will be very hard to replace in the hobby. Plus, I had someone ready to take them.

I think this one got eaten because it was really outgoing and something of a clown. It would even take the arowana pellets from the surface and was all over the tank even with the lights on. The other one is more conservative and only comes out to eat when I drop some pellets in with the moonlights on for the goonch.

I looked them up. Cool-looking. Never seen them live or even on pics. So sad they are almost extinct in their native China.

Then I am not that much surprised but still am. This is the first example of a jur preying on a tank mate 3/4 their size and not quite so cigar shaped that I came across.

Ah man, that sucks. Imperial loaches are cool looking fish, sorry to hear about this. I did lol at your Oakley description though, so there's that. You could always buy some Foakleys to replace the Broakleys, since fake is always cheaper than the real thing. ;)

I laughed.. I cried.. damn Rob your having a heck of a week. I almost asked if it was one of the loaches.. but I didn't want it to be so >.< But I now have an answer since I was pondering getting a few small ones next time they became available to grow out.
