Honestly i wouldnt bother keeping a pair of convicts in a 10 gallon..... id go with a planted shrimp and neon tank

Depends on decour but that would be max for a 10 gallon with a decent size hob and water changes

How many of a species?

Maybe 3-4 clown killi (top - mid water fish)
Galaxy Rasboas 6-8 (more mid to bottom dweller)
Khulli loaches maybe 2?
And add in 2-4 ottos

Best thing is nothing will outgrow your tank...

Other option is to do a small planted tank with maybe 3 drawf puffers 2F/1M
