Im part of a local fish club, i plan on getting some rainbowfish from one of them, maybe a couple angels.
I WISH discus were that cheap here. i wouldnt keep them anyhow. too much work lol

I think a rainbow planted tank would be beautiful. Especially a school of about 20 with some floating plants for them to weave through while they school back and forth.

I met somebody a long time ago that said he had about 60 neons in a 55 and that was fun to watch them school all day. Gott be something you can do to make a current flow back and forth to get them to school interesting patterns.
 
I agree. I like the idea of schooling fish but they seem to lack personality. I've seen a few rainbowfish with an attitude so I think thats whats leading me to them. they seem to be a nice mix of both for me, and i hear they breed pretty easy. I like that.

Im not going to be on that side of the pond anytime soon. But if their stock is pretty consistent, then ill swing down there one day and take a look.

I had a fire eel whenever I had my 125 a couple years ago.
He disappeared one day.....
I found in 7 months later under my dresser across the room. So, no. lol

Its going to be a planted Rainbowfish tank.
 
If you're looking for personality, add a pair or pod of elephant nose. Should give personality and you could probably train them to heard the rainbows. I wouldn't doubt it.

SELAS? I'm not too into anything. I've heard the acronym but never looked it up. I see now that its another fish forum. I might give it a try. Checking diy now for interest... That's actually how I got on MFK. 10,000 gallon fish tank house addition. Inspiring!
