NEW 10G BREEDING TANK SETUP

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well I didnt want to flush it or return it and my lagoon isnt exactly fully salt its more brackish but hopefully it survives, good thing they're hardy.

Great job releasing an aquarium fish that could have been harboring a disease (which is likely if you just bought from a lfs) and introduced it into your local natives.

Oh yes a single guppy is going to completely destroy the ecosystem in a lagoon filled with water from the SF bay. as if the fish dont already have worse

lmao give the guy a break it was "1 guppy"

Its not that it was a single guppy, its that we shouldn't tolerate the release of any fish (regardless of size and number) that was at one time exposed to a number of possible medications and diseases while in the fish trade. Its irresponsible fish keeping and is the reason there are so many restrictions already on certain species.

again its 1 guppy! you need to relax

Again... it doesn't matter if it was a SINGLE GUPPY. It stills has the possibility of passing on a disease. I could steal a piece of candy... a single piece of candy, and it would still be illegal. The size and number of the fish doesn't make it ok to be irresponsible and dump it in a lagoon.

okay i will apologize if you can prove to me one instance where someone let a guppy loose in a lake/lagoon and it wiped out every single fish.

Unlike you, people don't tell the world that they released their fish and then document the negative effect that it has on their local environment. These are the only documents I could find in my quick search.

Here are two threads that talk about the negatives of releasing fish...
