Canada eh!
Hello all!!!

I started working on my new indoor pond project.

I already have a 120g aquarium and a 300 gallon stock tank setups for my turtles and fishes.

Right now the humidity is under control (about 40%). The air exchanger and the cheap dehumidifier are doing the job. But I'm concern the new 1100g tank might put me into a whole different ball game in term of water evaporation and humidity.

I wouldn't want to find out in 4-5 years that my brand new house is rotted to hell.

Any suggestions? Should I buy a second dehumidifier?

I was hoping for atleast one answer. :D

sorry i cant give you an answer but free bump!

I just started using my own 1500g indoor pond and i have 1 cheap dehumidifier doing most of the work and so far it has taken out 1 liter in 4 days.

If you want to be 100% sure there is no fungus or rot starting ad some good ventilation to the room and make sure that there is good circulation

Evaporation all depends on how big the water surface is.

The water surface is going to be 15' by 5'.

I don't know the formula for evaporation but i am sure you can find some thing on the yea old interweb.
I think you have to take ambient temp and water temp and do something with a calculator. But there is where my knowledge stops

We worked on the pond for 12 hours today but we still didn't manage to finish!!!!!

First we redid some wiring to relocate one of the wall electric heaters. Took the entire morning... ROFL

Started to assemble the frame made of 2"x6". Size of the pond is 15.5' x 6.5' x 30''.

And that's where I'm at right now. We stopped for the night. I've been up since 6 am and I have to work a 12 hour night shift tonight....
