New 130 brackish -Input or suggestions?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sounds good but i don't want to raise it too much to quick. About .001 a day too much?

If it's been 1.002 for a week, it is ok to raise it another .002.

-Plants: As has been posted here and elsewhere: Scat + plant = Scat. Only java fern and moss are really brackish, and java fern is poionous and will get eaten by the scat. Stick w/plastic.
-Salinity: As pufferpunk said. But how big/old is your livestock? The salinity should increase with time. My 75g adult tank is about 1.012, but could go to full marine. My new fish go into a QT at 1.005. Don't worry about salinity changes - it's fine on the fish. you just don't want to kill the bacteria that are used to the current conditions.
-Stocking: I would have gone with more each of fewer species, because you've selected schooling types. 4-5 mono argent school beautifully (what I have), but now your m.sebae is odd man out. Columbian sharks also school, eat a LOT, and get big fast.
-Chromides: I forget between the orange and green which is best as a school, and which a breeding pair.
-Goby: Is it a high-fin knight (fan-dancer) goby? It's pale in color, polka dots, with a very high dorsal fin. Check the photos online.

Best of luck!

Good info and thanks for the blind ID, it is a fan dancer. They seem to be responding well to the Ick treatment - Thanks and i'll try to get some pics up after waterchange.

Here are some pics - Gonna start on the lid/canopy this weekend if i get some time. Thanks for the comments everyone- sorry for cellphone pics - other camera is loaned out.
