Everyone asks me what the hell Im doin with parrots in there. I simply have no backbone...NONE! My new Map is awesome. He has adjusted and is so outgoing in the tank. Im assuming because of his size. How are yours? Any new pics? I added a small pair of firemouth into the mix last week. Im hoping they are male and female. What do you think of them? And....as you know I have 2 rena xp4's filtering the tank. When I feed, the residue and dust from food hangs in the water column for awhile. Its a 150g tall. The water clears up after awhil crystal clear. It takes awhile though. Any suggestions?

How much surface agitation do you have? It sounds low if the residue is floating at the top. I would add an AC110.

I lost two of the three new smaller maps. I had a tough run with those three. I don't have much hope for the last of that group. The larger ones (x4) are in with the rays and doing awesome. The two males are constantly lip locking and courting the two females. They have finally figured out the rays aren't a threat and are now following them for food.

Just leftovers floating midtank. Really not a problem.

Sorry to haer of the Map, they were a challenge from day one for ya'. Though I am glad to hear of the others playing well with the rays. When you get a chance, throw a vid up.

Wish I could. Geos sift too much and unroot everything!!

All my plastic plants are attached to eggcrate with that 2 part epoxy thats like jb weld. No matter how harr they try the plants stay put.

Just an update...

After taking a hit in losing one of my loaches, I added a mated pair of black mountain botia's.

Looks good. Loving the flagtail, always wanted one but need my plecos to die first(they're 10 & 12 and going strong).

The Flagtail growing so fast. He will most likely outgrow my tank. If that does happen, the Camden Aquarium outside of Phila. would like to have him. He's a very cool fish and I havent noticed any sucking behaviors like the nightmares Ive heard.
