What?! I like the gravel. To each his own. That's an interesting tank. Awesome coloration in those fish. Is the striped parrot a parrot cross with something?
Thank you!

That fish, as all the parrots but one, are offspring of my big red devil and my original blood parrot.

Most are hybrid looking. I have 2 red devils and multiple parrot / hybrids that survived.

One of the parrots (my wife named him Tumbler) swims upside down, on his side and every other way. You would think he is sick, but he is so healthy! Eats like a pig and very active. He just swims funny. Kind of like a drunk fish!

Very Very nice aquarium, but a bit heavy on the gravel.
Looks like there is WAY more gravel than there is!

The fish have dug up so much of the gravel under the rocks and moved it to the front of the tank! LOL

If I took a better pic (hardly the photographer!), you would see that just 4 or 5 inches behind the glass is an awful lot of bare bottom!

There is actually only about 3/4 of an inch of gravel on the entire bottom of the tank if the fish were not professional landscapers!

Yeah, I know how it goes, I put a potted plant with gravel in with a devil and the devil proceded to take out the gravel one piece at a time and spit it out all over the tank. I have black colorquartz as substrate, and now I have to go through and pick up all that gravel which in a 27in high tank won't be fun.

nice tank

nice tank, shouldn't call yourself a newbie if you've had big healthy fish for a long time
