new 180

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well not having coral would very much simplify the process..

and many fish not considered 'reef safe' are coral safe, groupers, lions, eels, wrasses etc.. none of which nip at coral, but may nip at crustaceans or other inverts, or simply knock them over..

if you're up for the 'challenge' SW is definately worth-while.. but of course FW is easier

go with sw give it a shot i was like that too i loved my fw tanks and i still do but nothings better then sw i can sit and stare at my reef tank all day its 100xs more relaxing then watching my cichlids fight or swim back n forth lol

never kept a shark im sure it will outgrow a 180 tho...bad thing about the lfs is theyll tell you to buy an oscar and it will live comfortably in a 10 gal lol even on the internet there just out to take your money sometimes unfortanatly :(

brownbanded bamboos [i assume that's the shark you refer to] don't get to just over a foot. no aquarium shark does. this animal will get three feet, and something in the region of 500 gallons is the minimum required. unfortunately your tank cannot house any shark for life. also not too good an idea to get a shark right now seeing as you're new to the salty side of aquaria. also also, the other fish you want arent very good shark tankmates.

as are zebras, chains, white eyes, and goldens i think

as for coral fish.. i did just list a few.. the problem is any fish under 5'' will immediately be considered food and any 5-8'' he'll prolly still try to eat.. once grown of course

some thing like:
1-2 lions
lunare wrasse
snowflake
miniatus, polleni, etc grouper
maybe a group of chromis or schooling bannerfish

something along those lines would be really interesting i think

Cmon BIG!? Learn me up... :naughty:
