new 20" male dovii

cost me 35 in gas so it wasnt too costly of a trip. He is not banging glass yet but he was in the previous owners tank. and yes those heaters are in trouble, anyone have an idea on how to protect them??

Swap them out for non-glass units; that would be the best way. Man, you ARE accumulating a nice assortment of fish! Given your location, I would have to think that you have the best assortment of large cichlids anywhere around for for a couple hours in any direction! I'd love to come visit and drool over your fish sometime (not so subtle hint)... :naughty:
 
well I measured the inside of the cooler he rode home in, which was 26" when I got him home he was laying in the cooler on his side and there was about 6" left, so yeah I guessed. however when i picked him up he was in a 125 and when he turned his nose touched the front and his tail bent quite a bit so hes longer than 17" for sure, very close to 20", maybe when I move him to a huge tank ill take the time to lay him on a meas. tape and take a pic!!
