Ok, so last week I sold my 12inch male doviii because I felt he deserved a larger tank that I couldn't provide for when he gets bigger. So I got everything setup perfectly and and took a shot at a setup that sounds really interesting and fun. Instead of having one monster in a tank, I got several other smaller (not really small but smaller than a dovii) cichlids and am hoping it'll all work out. I got 2 green terrors, 1 RTM, 1 jaguar cichlid, 2 convicts, and 1 Texas cichlid all about 2 in except for the GTs who are about 1 in. I wanted to get a Midas but I feel like I'm already pushing the boundaries of overstocking already. I have a large sponge filter in it, a 75g wet dry sump, and soon will hook up my 2 sunsun 304-B canisters. I'm aware that I have a lack of furniture but I'm also going to get a steal on some big pieces of driftwood tomorrow morning from a friend. They are all eating pellets after two days except for the jag who is eating flakes instead. There is a decently strong current in the tank and it's fun to see them all play in the current occasionally. Here are some pics so far. I can't take a full picture of the tank because the room doesn't allow me to back up far enough. Hope you all like it!image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

I have a spare 29g should I just power feed them in there and put them back or just see how they do?

They'll grow slower in the 29. I'd just monitor the situation. What's the width of the tank? Looks narrower than expected, something to be mindful of in territorial disputes

Just feed 'em in there. You'll see what he means in about 6 months.

It's only 24 inches wide I guess the gravel makes it look even smaller and so does the distorted camera angle

They aren't all staying in this tank, the Texas and jag are moving once they grow to about five or six inches. I should've mentioned that in the description. I figured the rest could stay.

I think they could all work in there for quite some yime, if not permanently. It will come down to individual personalities in my opinion.

Youre probably right. I would only be worried about a lor of sparring as they grow. They will all fight when young, but then they will get close to adult size and should settle. Except that the GT will be slower, so if they start another tossup for dominance when they get older it could be an issue.

But they could all get along, it really is a personality thing.

The Dovi would have been fine in that 220g. But nice that you thought so much of him.
