New 220g Cichlid Aquarium

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ok, well I rehomed the green terrors and I'm hoping for the best. If there is any major conflict, I'll solve it when the time comes. Luckily I have a good friend and neighbor with several large tanks and is happy to take fish off my hands. I got all of these guys off him and he said I can return them for the same price I bought them for.

I know you said you wanted a Midas. You could maybe squeeze one in.

I would wait until the others hit about 3-5" because Midas grow really fast and are aggressive at a small age, and some other fish take a bit of time to get the attitude they would need to survive.

I would think a Midas could work if you get him @ 2" when the rest are 4".

Ok thanks I'll think about the Midas. I really don't like overstocking tanks and having pristine filtration as it is a cichlid tank which can be pretty messy as it is. I got some new lava rock, driftwood, and granite to separate the aggression. I tried to get a good picture. The only visible fish is the rtm but normally they all come out. The new furniture is stressing them out a bit.

Here's another one I tried to cover up the overflow lol

I like it.

Mine always are just piles of rocks and a limb of a tree or two, which i find in the pond across my street. Makes some decent peices that is already driftwood, and its free!

Yours has a lot more color, looks nice :)

Nice tank. Is that an aqueon tank ?
Not sure, I bought it off of a marine biologist with the stand. The guy had groupers and aggressive saltwater fish (I'm not too keen on saltwater) and I got it for a steal. It has a labeled switch in the stand for every single thing in or around the tank including a light under the tank, plus about 20 wall plugs. I think he said it was a custom build, not sure though.
