New 24 foot tank...need stocking advice

...and/or altums. A shoal of 1000 cardinals would also be quite nice.

Haven't decided yet? Make sure whatever you decide you plan to keep forever. Don't get some fish that gets huge and out grows the tank. My suggestion would be to make sure that everything you buy stays under 18".

i would stock that swimming pool with red terrors, flowerhorns, convicts, chocalate cichlids ,jack dempseys and electirc blue dempsey if u can get your hands on them. use plenty of driftwood,rocks n plants for cover.

i would stock that swimming pool with red terrors, flowerhorns, convicts, chocalate cichlids ,jack dempseys and electirc blue dempsey if u can get your hands on them. use plenty of driftwood,rocks n plants for cover.

How are the plants going to survive those fish? Those critters won't take a second to think it over whether to spare the plants or not.

Plant the heck out of that tank, and then get a couple different colored arros to glide through. Like dragons flying through the trees.

Plants do just fine in my 800 with all kinds of big cichlids. They don't even take a second look at them. It's only when the cichlids are confined and can't "stretch their legs"
