Yeah those damn Pacu's can get the size of a trash can lid. They take up a ton of space. The biggest thing you want to consider in my opinion is your bio filtration. The more fish, or the bigger the fish, the more bio you need. In your case you plan to not only have big fish, but alot of them. If you intend to keep with your current fish, you will probably want to run a wet / dry or sump type of filter. That is probably the only type of filtration that is reasonable in price that could handle that much bio load. The problem is the ammonia. I dont know what all you know about filtration so I may be telling you the obvious, but you need alot of bio surface area so that there is ALOT of bacteria. Enough to consume 100% of the ammonia your fish can create. Even the allmighty FX5 cant handle a bio load the size you will eventually have. It just doesnt provide enough bio surface area to handle the job. Another advantage to using a sump is that the trickle affect through your bio media does a really good job of out gasing the carbon dioxide and other toxic gases and replaces it with oxygen. If you are able to use this type of filter you shouldnt have too much problem with that many fish, untill they start to outgrow that tank, which they will.
