New 240

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thank you everyone. The 3 week waiting will give me time to get my filtration, lighting, and stocking sorted out. :)

BTW, this aquarium is going next to the couch so I can look at it while watching TV.

Forget the TV and watch the tank (no reruns)

wow you can see the difference, nice

I bought a Filstar XP3 and a Fluval FX5. This tank will be very lightly stocked, so hopefully that plus an AC110 should be enough for a long time. I also started staining the visible surfaces. I'm going to do the inside and bottom tomorrow, and then the second coat for visible surfaces on Thursday. Its minwood red oak stain. I think I'll also try to add hinges or something. The quality of the stand leaves something to be desired, but I suppose as long as it holds the aquarium. Hopefully its level.

I also cleaned the aquarium just a little bit. It doesn't look like I found it in a a burned out building any more.

nice great job

nice job. You should think about sealing the inside of the stand while you have it available. You might not be using a sump underneath it now, but you never know down the road. I know my stand (which is the exact same one you have) Soaks up water like you wouldn't believe. I regret not sealing up the inside when I stained the outside.
