Well I lost power just now... And when it turned on it looks like I have 2 leaks. (And I just likely lost my best lwanda, he was sick, when the power turned on he got stuck in the intake of the filter.) I can only hope. I figure what is happening is water gets around the main seal easily since the tubing isn't flat. Then it slowly seeps through the Silicon. I will try patching both since all the others appear fine, But 2 out if six sort of worries me. At least the most I have waisted is ~4 bucks of silicon, but I think at least one of them will be an easy the fix, the second one has me more worried since I can't find where it is leaking from. (Well the point that is.)

Well I tried fixing it, did another leak test... found 1 new and still had 1 old leak. So I have switched the method that I am connecting my hoses. Now I have a 2" pvc in the drains, and then a 2" join is used to silicon the flexible tubing. I hope there are no leaks but by using the extra piping I was able to seal everything at eye level, so hopefully everything is fully sealed. I still have 2 more things to join and if I am lucky I will get them done tomorrow... But I have the Atlanta fish club (AAAA) meeting to go to so we will see if I have time.

SO in other words if all goes well I will be doing a fill on Sat, maybe Sunday.

Anyways we forgive you.

I have 2 cockers as well and I am told they are the most adorable things.

So I am going to call it as no leaks... BWAHAHAHAHA (IT only took 3 versions... 2.5 things of silicon caulking, and almost a month.)

Now I just need to get a few easy piping things finalalized. (IE no drilling just pipe placement.)

Anyways the dry photos...

Ok update...

Well as you can see I am not tall enough to reach the bottom of the tank. Oh btw I am 6ft. And the canopy is a 2 person job to remove so that stays on always.

So I do need to get ladder... that wont happen soon. I have just put in some left over gravel, and the rest will come from the 135 pictured. (All those fish will eventually go in this tank too.)

Anyways I had a slight leak start 2 hours after it was filled. So I emptied that container and caulked like mad... Well I put so much on that it isn't fully dry 24 hours after. But I did get everything else setup now so I can fill the tank without water going everywhere.

Eh anyways a few more shots and hopefully tomorrow I will have it filled with water at least. (And likely a few yellow labs......)

nice its coming along... sweet tankk.. you should stock it with some cichla ;)

Nah the main point is actually for me to free up my 135 so that I can move my Discus into that tank... cichla are cool but well I need to move first before I start going that route.

Nice tank :headbang2

I am a little hesitant to post this but I figure I should......For your benefit.

Many,Many years ago I tried just about every way to plumb and filter a tank imaginable , some worked MOST didnt. I can tell you firsthand from my own failures that you plumbing will fail. Relying on silicone to prevent leaks is not a good idea when your dealing with almost 300 gallons of water. Those siliconed bulkheads will forever haunt you. Buckets for a sump is another bad idea, just too many places to have problems. I have found that a large rubbermaid storage bin is the perfect low buck approach to a sump. Thousands of ideas out there to make them an efficient and leak free filter/sump. Those rubber plumbing connectors you are using to attach to your standpipes will leak over time also, mostly due to the clamps loosening but a leak nonetheless. When dealing with PVC just hard plumb ALL your connections.

I certainly hope I haven't offended you in any way, I just see a younger me in what you are trying to do and would hate to see your system fail.

Best of luck........
