I just placed my order for a new 300 gallon tank from Glass Cages. I was looking at their site and noticed that they have a delivery scheduled for Saturday in Columbus, Ohio which is only about 2.5 hours from me. They don't have another scheduled delivery anywhere near me for quite a while.

Anyway, I e-mailed and asked if they have any 300 gallon reef ready tanks ready to ship for this weekend. I couldn't believe it but they said yes! I gave them a call and placed the order. I am going to be getting a 300 wide, it is 96"x30"x25 with dual overflows.

I'm really looking forward to it, however since it was a spur of the moment thing I haven't even started getting ready for it. This is going to be fun!!!! :nilly:

Nice....how bad did it hurt the pockets

Not too bad, $1,270 plus $132 delivery to Columbus. Now I just have to build a stand, a canopy, a sump, do a bunch of plumbing, get some lights, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

ouch! haha jk thats a great deal, nice pickup

Great deal and congrats! Don't forget pics!

I might have to look into these tanks when I decide to get another monster.

That is a decent price. I wonder how the quality is on these tanks these days. I have seen two examples say 5-6 years ago and the silicon was all over the place and was very sloppy in the joints. I hope they came along way since the early days. A co worker is looking to order this same tank but with starfire.

I have read a lot of things about them as well. As long as the only problem I end up with is a little extra silicon then I can deal with that. As long as it doesn't leak I'll be happy. Can't really expect perfection for the price I am paying.

just make sure that when you get the tank off the truck you thoroughly inspect it and notify them immediately of any problems and refuse the tank.

I have read several horror stories of customers (eg on reefcentral) that didn't notice problems until after they got home and when they called about them they said tough. once you get the tank you basically are on your own apparently..

congrats on the tank!

Price is a little higher but Andy at Tropicalfishstore.com made me a hell of a deal on a Tenecor acrylic 96 x 36 x 25. Think I gave a little more for the tank but hey its acrylic, and its Tenecor which means lifetime guarantee. He gave me a smoking deal on the whole turnkey package stand and all. I shopped around quite a bit and the closest quote to him for the exact same stuff was over $1000 higher. Not to mention he shipped it all to my door for FREE. I almost got one of glasscages.com's tanks but when I found this deal on a Tenecor I thought it was worth the little bit of extra cheese.
