Scooters are as easy as a goby.

i disagree, ive known some expert aquarist in my area with issues on certain species of blenny feeding. Reserch is a good idea before purchase of any fish you intend to keep.

honestly dont have the slightest clue. its one of the pieces of live rock. its under a purple thing that looks like a scallop, ive seen it rise once and drop back down. and the scooter is doing great. eating frozen brine shrimp. and i never realized that the flametail has fangs, theyre huge, lol

you might have a free serpent star :D
good to hear about the scooter.. as long as he's eating good there's really no problem being in a new tank

closely related as in a color difference, and they are smaller
scooters and mandarins are gobies, but are definitely harder than, say, a watchman

There Blennys.

they are mandarins

calling them scooter blennies doesn't mean jack

neither does calling them gobys ;)

except mandarins are a subclass of goby, as are fire and dartfish

The mandarinfish or mandarin dragonet (Synchiropus splendidus), is a small, brightly-colored member of the dragonet family, which is popular in the saltwater aquarium trade. The mandarinfish is native to the Pacific, ranging approximately from the Ryukyu Islands south to Australia. It is also somewhat misleadingly known as the mandarin goby, due to its resemblance to blennies and gobies. Other trade names include "green mandarinfish", "striped mandarinfish", or "psychedelic fish". The name psychedelic mandarin is also used for a closely related species, the picturesque dragonet, Synchiropus picturatus.

Suborder Blennioidei
Suborder Icosteoidei
Suborder Gobiesocoidei
Suborder Callionymoidei
Suborder Gobioidei

if you'd care to point out as to which Callionymidae is closer to, Bennioidei or Gobioidei?

looking at a list of fish names leads to different assumptions than ethologic/biological study would

Which totally kills your point of them not being anything but a Mandarin

I'm just having fun at your U-Turns,i never said they was a Blenny ;) i just said they were closley related you made your own reality up and i just had fun with it....

Earth to BigG ;)
