You have to be super careful with those on acrylic tanks tho.

Nice pick up man. I don't usually like square tanks.....unless they're that big! :D

D, are you dead set on drilling the back? I think since you have the holes already centered in the tank you could/should make use of them. What size holes are they?

I had an idea I want to run past you when you have time, give me a call. I was thinking you might be able to drill out the center a large piece of driftwood (tall mazanita stump etc... I can set you up for free :naughty:) and hide the overflow plumbing inside. The fact that this tank is not drilled on any side make me think it would be awesome if you could keep it clean and not drill it.

Sounds good to me Justin, I have never had a sump setup so I will trust your judgement. I will try and give you a call tonight, I have been busy with my daughter, son, sports..etc. We also need to figure out how tall I need to make the stand, I want to get that up and going...Maybe I will just copy off of the old stand?

Typical stands run at about 29-31". For shorter tanks, you can go a bit taller, but I bet 31" would work just nicely.

How tall is the original stand? Let's see a pic if it. My two cents, your no small guy, you will probably be happier with a taller stand. Your going to spend allot more time looking at your fish than maintanence. With that deep of a tank, you don't want to be hunched over trying to see your fish. Your going to be on a ladder no matter what for maintanance.

I think the other stand is right around 40" so with the tank on it that would put it at about 70"...I'm 6'3" so that is about right I guess...I'll measure it when I get home.
