nice looking set up
those fish do look a little big for a 55 though, but i'm sure all is well

and i must say that is the fattest/biggest c. algae eater i have ever seen...goodness

yeah without a doubt theyre starting to get a little big.. im already on craigslist looking for potential upgrades..

and thanks!!
that algae eater is at least 2 yrs old, ive had him since he was less than a half inch

he doesnt really like to eat algae though lol

dont beat yourself up over it :chillpill::chillpill:

you must be talking about the sunshine peacock

Yep...he is awesome. Would these be good tank mates with the Yellow Labs? I am a beginner Cichlid keeper...I would like to have something that isnt so "beginner" though. Yellow Labs, Pseudotropheus Acei and Rusty Cichlids are just so boring.

Thanks

well ive got a yellow lab in there.. but hes one of the smaller fish. those acei of yours will probly be lookers one day.. i dont like rustys either..

mbuna's are generally more aggressive in my experience.. so if you wanted to mix peacocks/haps with em have them be outnumbered..
dont get me wrong, peacocks and haps are aggressive too (that sunshine is the bully of my tank) but mbuna are relentless...

i wouldnt go so far as to say theyre good beginners... but as long as your tank is of appropriate size, has adequate filtration, and you balance the aggression of your fish they're pretty hardy guys... and beautiful

i wish i could have more haps, but they get to big for my current set up
