New 55 gallon tank, need opinions on stocking

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Regarding Hellman's last two posts, I wouldn't throw all six of those fish in a 55 for life. Maybe one of each, for three total.

Also, I'd definitely add more filtration than just a Biowheel 400. The 2217 is a nice start, and maybe throw on an AC 70 or 110 for a little something extra and some surface agitation.

I would do a pair of firemouths, and two senegal bichirs if I were you...Don't do more then 1 convict unless they are the only two cichlids in the tank...if you get two males, one will kill the other...if you get a m/f they will breed giving you tons of fry which you may not want to deal with, and also when they breed they will terrorize any other cichlid.

Your right i didnt mean all 6 so thats my fault but you can put more then just three in a 55 and a marineland 400 bio wheel is more then enough for a 55 gallon with 5 fish in it i would know because i had 6 in there that were full grown and my tank was always clear

will need to do alot of water changes with those 3 fish in a 55. Long shot but u could try a nice severum. I prefer the gold sev over others they make a great center piece fish. If you want a little more aggression then i would do a breeding pair of salvinis as their color is only matched to that of the festea

forget the convict get blue hondurans
