Haha, then it sucks for people who live in ontario. btw why are SH banned in ontario? i always though the temperatures were too cold, even for argus. It can easily get to -10 if im not mistaken.

Ontario doesn't seem to like "scary" animals of any kind. Snakehead bans, pitbull bans, no way I could ever move there. So ya, figured out what i have is Channa micropeltes, he's moved into a 75g for a few months. got a lot of good info on it in the past few days, haha and from chronick on a different forum. Thanks a lot! went to take some photos, dropped and broke my camera. stupid plastic technology.

if you're talking about BCA, it's a pleasure to meet you... again :D oh yeah, KingEL is also on these forums as well as -DC-.

Giant snakehead? You know he's going to need a huge aquarium later on, right?
It's going to end up killing all your fish eventually, also.

Micros will need a tank that is atleast 5ft long and more or less 3 ft wide. a height of 20 inches can be sufficient i think.

Be forewarned though, they usually grow more than an inch a month from 4 inch ti'l they hit the 18-20 inch mark. It will slow down for quite a bit. These are observations based on my micropeltes that i placed in a "cage" pond. i think mine is roughly 22 inch or so. I fed mine some market fish that i froze and some homegrown guppies. Mine also liked chicken fillet lol.

My micro has slowed down at 18 inches in my 150,and im in a hurry:nilly:to get my 265 (8ftX2ftX26inches) going so he can have more room.

More room the better. It is weird though, my micro wouldn't move frequently like i've seen on youtube. He will patrol his side of the pond for a few minutes then stay back near his plants. Btw, my pond is divided in two, the other side has kois and oscars. I often see him following and flaring with the oscar. I wish aquariums were as cheap as ponds here :)

what do you feed your micro?
i'm always delighted to see other micro keepers, the joy of looking at these monsters, wow

Yup I'm on both forums,

And snakeheads are NOT illigal in canada, although soem local bylaws or provincial laws may be diffrent, never go by what people say, just look up your local laws is the best option!

pm -DC- he got some aurantis and bleheris from an importer, i think he lives in ontario or montreal. If you're serious about getting snakeheads you can get them imported otherwise yeah, it sis pretty hard to get SH in canada. .

I have Aurantis, and Asiatica myself, I the place i buy them has pulcra's, bleheris, and melasoma available now... which may or may not end up in my collection some day lol,

Not illegal in all of Canada but as stated earlier they are illegal in Ontario. I get lots of requests to ship them there but can't be done.
