New 60 gallon Hex! Stocking Ideas?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Linden: The Eel is not going in the 60 hex so I could definitely look into Rope Fish. I actually saw some at my LFS and was really interested at them, but didn't really look further into it. How many do you recommend in that size tank? The dimensions are really odd and don't give much floor space (only 24" in length I think), mainly height.

A rope fish would need a larger tank. There are many spinies that would work though, you could do M. circumcinctus, M. zebrinus, M. siamensis, M. aculeatus, M. pancalus, or M. aral (and others).

I have this same exact tank sitting in the corner of my basement. Where did you get the stand? Short of building one I have been unable to find a stand for it.. So it's my Emergency tank...

It was my uncle's tank before, so I'm not sure where he got it. I'll make sure and ask the next time I see him though. It seems like it's specifically fitted for that tank, so I'm assuming he probably bought it as a set.

And I see, about the Rope Fish. I think I may look into the Zig Zag Eels a bit more, and if I don't end up with that I'll just use it as my new Qt tank or something.

I use pool filter sand of a course sand grade. tbh I forgot the size but I think it's 3mm. It's not the finest grade you can get but it's finer then gravel. atm my tire track eel is on it, and my 2 leoprads. my fires are in a bare bottom tank atm.
