I'll go definitly for an automatic ( or easier ) water change to do it more frequently. And the food can help me.Ph is really not a big concern as much as nitrates / water quality / and food ,,, I used to soak my shrimp in vitamin supplements like the refrigerated vitamin C stuff u can get and make my my own shrimp mush using Nori and powdered algea at health food store frozen or fresh peas and freeze it in ice trays or large ziplock bags and snap some off when feeding ... That seemed to be the best way to treat preventatively and if they had it feed them (if u get them to eat )the medicated Flagyl / metro...that would be ideal treatment ,,,,but yea ur ph is what it is from ur water source and since most carry the parasite anyway in their intestines and only break out when water quality and food require requirements aren't met it really doesn't matter as much if any at all
I have another problem with the new babies, one of them ( Melanie ) sometimes rubs on the bottom.I think it is Ichtyo.
If would be Ichtyo ( now I'm waiting to be sure ) what do you suggest to do.
In this tank ( 200 gal ) there are 10 little cichla, 3 melanie,3kelberi,2mono,2orino of around 3 inch.
Can I use the medicine like faunamor, costawert, punktol ( all of them have blu metilene ) with this little fish?
Give some help
Thank you
