new 65 gallon cichlid stocking ideas

65 will be bare minimum for a full grown flowerhorn. Mine is around 8" and makes a 75 look small. A short bodied variant will do much better though.

Im not a huge fan of african lake cichlids. But i do really like jewel cichlids. I think a 65 would make a nice west african biotope with a pair of hemichromis, syno cats, some african tetras, and maybe even a butterflyfish. Im gonna get around to setting up one of these one day.

im more interested in the cichlids I mentioned I feel one flowerhorn would be fine see full grown ones thrive in 55 but feel they are too short for them to turn

I suppose a fish that cant even turn around in its enclosure is "thriving" then. Interesting.

Have fun with lake cichlids they look like a hoot ive just never found them appealing.
