bigG you use RO water right?? My question is were does this water come from. What im thinking is theres some sort of pesticide or something like that, because the RO system is not the best for "pure" water.

the 6 bulb would be fine for montis, after all they'd do fine under pcs probably. They require high light for faster growth. The 8 bulb IMO would be a much better option. After all, im about to have 10 HO's over my tank, with no limits its well worth the extra cost.
 
well we ended up gettin the 8 bulb anyway.. as well as about 4 gallons of seachem additives..

i think i've cooled down enough to keep things the way they are for a while...

however i did (a few weeks ago) add about 3 camel shrimp to the tank..
either 2 are hiding or dead but i just read that these guys pick at certain corals.. anybody have experience with this guys in reef tanks?
i can always feed him to the lion if the need be
 
no personal experience but ive heard similar things about them. A local reefer had some in his 30 gallon, and they would eat the flesh of his brain coral, which in turn, killed it after some time.

you got the 8bulb tek light?? how do you like it. Its bright isnt it lol

And the water I get has been fine for the last few years
If it was something that obviously wrong I would have the tang would be suffering immensly
But he's actually doing phenominal as of late
 
glad to hear the tang is doing well. Yeah i said T5's will grow a palm tree lol, and its probably true, many say theres limits with T5s but i have seen otherwise. Any plans for corals yet. Intend on a few SPS yet?
 
imreally aiming for zoos in this tank, up until like a month ago I've NEVER been able to keep em alive
But somehow the three hitchikers I have in the 29 are doing swell

Other than that, some open and closed brains, a few other LPS and softies, and some SPSs

im wondering how your getting 8 t5s over an 18 inch tank lol, but needless to say you wont have any problems keeping SPS, clams or carpets lol.
