Look into Amphilophus and Vieja Species. But my personal choices would be a Midas or Red Devil.

if you want an AWESOME bruiser, get a wolf fish or a delhezi bichir! Get one wolf or a couple (2) delhezis. congrates. i'm planning to get an 80 gal.

I'd say Vieja since they are usually underestimated in their size, temperament, and their amazing colors.
