does anyone on this site use tidepool sumps? good or bad

2 of you should be able to do it.... you may just need to rest a few times....:)

Are you certain your bedroom floor with be sturdy enough to hold the 1000+ pounds once it's full?

its over a load wall and its set up so it has weight on as many beams as possible. i am sure it will be fine.

alright im putting my 90 in my room today its just a stand and tank i need filter, heater, power head, and substrate

what should i get as far as heater? how many watts?
how many gph power head?
what canister filter is rated to around 200 gallons?
is there any thing wrong with putting berly enough gravel to cover the glass like almost no gravel maby 10 pounds on the bottom?

-I would go with 2 200watt heaters, safest method, incase one heater fails(fish won't freeze) or if heater gets stuck(fish won't boil).
-Wait on getting powerhead, with right filter set up you should have enough water circulation and not need a powerhead.
-A combination of a Rena xp3 and a Aquaclear 110 would do very well for this tank.
-A minimal amount of substrat will work fine, unless you have plants less gravel is better.

would it be okay to cycle with an emporer 400 then make a sump or buy a canister when i get some more cash? or would it cause cycling problems and cause a spike when i get the second filter?

Yes, Especially if you starting with small fish, you can add/upgrade filters later. If you already have a Emp 400 then go with it, if you have yet to get a HOB power filter go with the AC110. The AC110 will work better in tandem with the sump or canister you are going to add later.

any links to good deals? this is a budget set up

you can find good deals online, just shop around. Also petsmart will price match, just printout the product with the price and you can buy it at the store for that price.
