New 90g, have a few questions.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Alright I found some pictures that my wife took and uploaded before my computer said "screw you".

Picture of the overall tank:

A few of the fish:

Better picture of the Blue Tang: (wife went absolutely nuts when we were first looking at the tank and that guy popped out, she didn't know what fish were coming with the tank)

On to the live things I need help identifying:
1) The redish thing in the middle, I have more of that, it just decided to awaken yesterday. Hopefully I can get some pics soon.

2) This is what it looks like during the day, at night it looks like a piece of chewed purple gum.

3) These things are growing at an alarmingly fast rate. Previous owner said they were polyps.

All advice is appreciated.

The red thing is a mushroom and the thing that looks like gum is gsp (green star polyps)

:iagree: awesome clown BTW

good looking stock, the blue tang is going to get a LITTLE big for that tank but the rest should be fine.. any ideas for what's next?

Jeez that means I have to get an even bigger sw tank.
Got a time frame on that?

No comment on that last picture?

what size is he about now?? just by the pick he looks to be at the 5" mark. If thats the case you can keep him a bit longer before and upgrade would be needed. You must keep both tangs diet up to par with very healthy foods and algaes to avoid any future disease.

first coral = common red mushroom

second coral = zoanthids aka GSP

thrid coral = common button polyps

from the pictures the sand looks fine. I actually bought a bag of that sand and hated it. It was always dirty and the black carib sand became chunks over time. I stick with regular LR argonite and have yet to have any issues.

Thanks for the ID's, yeah the tang is alittle larger than 5 inches. What would be the best diet for the tangs?

LOTS of dried algea and forzen herbivore prearations (something like emerald entree)

yeah you could prolly hold the tank till he's a good 8 inches or so.. obviously the sooner you get the tank the better but if it's really not possible in the short term i think he could be ok for a good while

all those corals are hardy and easy to look after.. and should spread rather fst soon as well
