New 90g want to try some largers fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You can have one of pretty much any of the large sa/ca cichlids (except Dovii and Umbee), and there's also the option for doing pairs of the medium sized sa/ca cichlids.

Personally, I'd do something Nandopsis. A single large male Hait is always stunning. Or you could do a pair of Grammodes, which would be awesome as well.

Already have geos, I was under the impression 1 oscar in a 55, I know it is over stocked I guess I over estimated the size of my 90. in my 60 I currently have 1 ebjd, 1 sevrum red/gold, 1 Geophagus brasiliensis, 3 clown loaches and 1 yoyo loach I was going to move the clowns to the 90. everyone seems to be happy so far. anyways I made the stocking list from a post I found on a similar thread let me see if I can find it and link.

Heres the link to the thread I was taking info from.

well I came up with something with the help of a member
1 tiger oscar
1 chocolate
1 texas blue
1 green terror
5 clown loaches
1 green phantom pleco
1 salt queen pleco
A school of something maybe tiger barbs?

Anyways hows that sound 10x filtration 50% water changes a week could I add more fish or am I pushing it?

HA, Good luck fitting all that in.

Thanks for the helpful advice Jamesy!

If I did something like
1 tiger oscar
1 texas blue or green
1 green terror
3 clown loaches

would I have more success? or is the oscar just to much? would eliminating the oscar open up some more options?

Hmm doing a little research I think removing the Oscar would be the way to go. I could do lot more with the tank. Although I have had my heart set on the Oscar for a while decisions decisions. Anyways I'm not set on sa/ca cichlids any other largerish fish. I'd like to be able to have 3 fish I don't think I want to do a pair unless the pair could be civil with another large fish there's an awesome pair of rotkEli at my lfs I dunno. I'll be doing some major research before stocking. There's awesome a large blue Texas there. How about oddballs my lfs has a ton of crazy apex predator fish a lot of wolf fish. Do they all grow massive I haven't been able to find much info on them.

Thanks all!

HA, Good luck fitting all that in.

Well technically he could fit 10x that in, but luckily for the sake of the hobby and learning he came here before, and with that I give him credit. You sir need to change your attitude or don't post at all.

Op: my advice is for two mediums, spawn and
sell fry and/or raise. Have fun with the 90!
