On as serious note, how about a Range?

Id go with the Lexus. They are a Toyota product, mechanically bulletproof, and really hold their value.

the new 09 10 range rovers are good... 06-08 are garbage....

you should get an 03-05 range rover they have the BMW 4.4 in them... also there is a supercharged version that does 200mph FTW...

warning though... i have a range rover and once you get one you'll never drive anything else... repairs at the stealer-ship are insane too... 100 bucks an hour easy... if you got the money go euro.. the new audi suv's are sick too!! bmw x5 nice... volvo's aint bad...

euro cars require little more maintenance then jap cars and people are lazy and don't want to maintain their vehicles.... so when something breaks they complain even though they skipped a service or cut a corner....

What about a dodge Ram?

he's looking for an SUV.. not a truck. but if ya wanna go Dodge, there is always the Durango.. at least i think they still make them. it's great and comfortable to drive, but it's a beast..

when it comes to SUVs, I would either get a Toyota FJ Cruiser or an Audi Q7
(I know you're sold on an SUV after that front impact, but the car I personally feel the safest in is my wife's Mini Cooper ....amazing response when it comes to steering...I can avoid anything in a blink of an eye...to each his own I guess)
GL with your purchase
the FJs are a solid SUV, they have horrible visibility out of the rear windshield

Ranger Rover...

i didn't know about range rovers but my family used to have a land rover, it was a really cool car but it needed very frequent service

out of the three Li, i would go with the lexus, both my car and my mom's car are toyota SUVs and I honestly don't feel comfortable driving anything else
