So I'm picking up two used tanks one is a 180gallon and the other is 240gallon. The 180 needs some help, someone painted the back of it black and it needs to be redone. What is the right way to pull the paint off of it. Second the top has a crack on it and won't effect the tank but would like to be gone. Picture to follow soon. Thanks

If the crack is not to big you could try to bond it back together with acrylic cement or if it has split to much for that you will need to get a piece of acrylic and bond it over the crack.

Thanks what about taking the paint off the back or the tank?

If the crack is on the top of the tank it definately needs to be fixed because it is the support for the rest of the tank. I have not heard of a way to remove paint from acrylic. If you want to keep it black I would just paint over it.

Painting over it is not a option because someone took paint and flung it everywhere and then put black over it not cool. I just got the tank today will try to upload photos to night!

Paint thinner and a glass scraper.
Who cares about a crack on the top unless it appears unsafe. Wont the hood/lighting cover it?

Pictures as follow

This I found later tonight that it is 150 and not a 180 but still good deal.

So ACRYLIC OWNS NEED SOME HELP PLEASE!!!

wow! that 150 would need some work to get it any where near being a show piece if ever. you should use that as a sump for your 240, or trade it for someone looking for one.
