Ok..I surrender... after looking into the 2nd pix a lot of times i would say you all are right. It is a black..the dark silverish sheen of the scales os the sheen of a black one..

but this one could have fooled me..( and I have blacks and silvers )

Ya don't worry at 12" A silver and black are like night and day :) Especially in my opinion with Thickness of the Tail..

And the fin coloration of yours is also a dead give away :D

Lighting played a big role in your observation is my conclusion :) With no lights they can be confusing.. In which reason I look to the tail :)
