North Hills. Dude go check out Namado if you're willing to go as far as Elmer's, it's just down the road and my favorite LFS, it's the one that my friend owns.

Namado huh...alright will do next time I'm down that way. Wheres it at in relation to Elmers?

It's right at the beginning of Murrysville, next place over, probably a 10-15 minute drive from Elmer's, 20 at the very most if there's traffic. If you go and Anthony is there, tell him I sent you, I owe him a favor, always gives out free stuff for my fish :).

haha alright sounds good dude. I might try and get there this weekend. I want to check out that seahorse place too haha so many LFS's I never knew existed!!! I've been living in such a sheltered monster fish keeping world of two LFS haha.

Looks like I spoke to soon, the little guy unexpectedly destroyed half the flake I put in his tank for the others in the matter of about 60 seconds! I put some cardboard on the exposed side panel and put some upside down egg crate under the light to diffuse it and it looks like that's all it took!

For others who've kept these awesome fish, were they dark when young? I noticed that all google pictures (primarily adults) shows that they're silver colored when young, my guy is almost jet black though, even darker than IDs. Is this normal or might I have a different species?

Once again he devoured his flake, he's actually already the dominant feeder in the tank, he's eating before anyone else!

Bump for this ^

On another note, while he's been feeding voraciously and behaving normally for the most part. He'll occasionally (5ish times a day) swim as hard as he can against the front or left panel for several minutes no matter what I do to stop him, water conditions are fine and he's not being bullied. I don't want him getting a banged up snout like you see in those IDs that people keep in 55s, any thoughts on how to stop this behavior?

Mine were lighter colored grey when they were younger and now they are almost black and they also spend a good deal if time pushing against the side glass panel.
