New Addition: Pangasius larnaudii

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Other than swimming against the glass, dingus is doing great! He's put on an additional 0.5" so now he's sitting at 4.5". He's as of now, the fastest growing fish that I've owned. This silver on him is starting to come out and he's even getting some bluish-purple tints to him (I'll post pictures when the lights are on later) and girth wise he's about twice as fat as when I bought him, he looks like a small tuna at this point!

Just did a WC on my 30 and realized that he was bigger than he looked from outside the tank. So, I went ahead and acclimated him to my 75 gallon where he now resides until the pond is done.

Here he is in the 75, best picture I could get. Is it odd that he hasn't eaten in the four days he's been in there? Hoping it'll be the same as when I got him and it just takes him awhile to find the food. He also now swims up and down against the glass literally all day long, every single day unless I put my hand nest to him.

He's starting to worry me now, it's been 5 days of non-stop glass banging with no signs of wanting to eat anything. He's lost the bulge of fat he had put on his stomach and he's loosing weight pretty fast (probably from intense swimming all day long without food).

I doubt it was fat. I am pretty sure what he is loosing is simply due to bowel movement and the lack of replacement.

When it will have been 2-3 weeks, then I'd become concerned, granted everything looks perfect in the tank parameters etc and the tank mates are fine.

He's been eating for a few days now, finally :) and is putting back on the weight he'd lost already!
