Got this little lady on Tuesday, I am so glad and pleased with myself that I managed to finally track down a Parachromis Friedrichsthalii. She is still settling in and has eaten some bloodworm, NLS cichlasoma pellets and some earthworm pellets. I am pleased she has eaten so quickly, approx 2hrs after she was released into the tank.
The pictures aren't so good because my tank light is being replaced so I am using my emergency light which consists of a single 40w T8 tube.







And her tankmates, my female Midas and male Proteus pike.

i could be wroung but to me from those pictures it looks more gold motaguense than a freddie if u notice the lateral lines only go half way down on a freddie they go all the way down like i said i could be wroung but it looks more gold mota to me

I see what you mean. She was in the tank less than 10 hours at the point of the first photos, her markings are starting to come through now, pics below, and the vertical striping does indeed go the whole height of the fish. I think it is just stress but only time will tell.

Anyone who knows how to tell a regular Mota from a Freddy please explain.

Correction, a Loisellei. BTW how big is the tank she's in? Any problems with the tankmates yet? I'm just curious to see what I can or can't add to my tank.
