he was pretty nice..good size too..makes me wonder if it was the pet store employees that did it..or if some stupid kid had it and decided to go fishing in his tank..and then donate the fish to the store..the guy who netted him did seem a little hesitant.

common names can get jumbled up. but spiny eels usually refers to a different fish.

WAIT! In this one awesome LFS I noticed the same thing. They had like 6 Tiretracks last month I think and most of them had fishing line sticking out of their mouth. I didn't want to touch them. I can get a free 15 incher! But yeah I think it is how they catch them in the wild.

yes but did you know there not true eels thow
thats wierd thow hooks are supposed to dissolve in a week or two atleast the ones i use do i'm not saying i fish in my tank but come to think of it that would be interesting
